Bangkok and Florence are twinned Cities. Both cities have played important and very pivotal parts in the development of their respective continents in the last 500 years. Whilst they are on the other sides of the world to each other their cultural ties draw them together. Both places have been to spring board for massive advancement in learning, architecture , writing and the arts.

You cant currently fly direct from one city to another but with many European hubs availble its very possible to visit both cities in less than 24 hours. Florence of course is the birth place of the Italian Renaissance which brought us everything from currency to Da Vinci. Its set in the Province of Tuscany and is reputed to have the greatest density of quality art anywhere in the world.

Florence boasts many fine collections of art, especially those held in the Uffizi and the Pitti Palace and has been home to of many notable historical figures, such as Salvatore Ferragamo, Emilio Pucci ,Dante ,Boccaccio , Roberto Cavalli, Leonardo da Vinci, Botticelli, Guccio Gucci, Michelangelo, Niccolò Machiavelli, Brunelleschi, , Donatello, Galileo, Antonio Meucci, Franco Zeffirelli, Gabriel Batistuta and Luigi Cherubini. You wont have the time to see all of their work unless you plan on staying for 6 months or more but you should be able to see the major pieces in a five day trip.

Its also the second most visited place in Italy outside its more famous capital city, Rome and as such finding a hotel bed room can sometimes be a little difficult. My advice is to ditch one of the 35,000 hotel beds and search out some of the quality apartments for rent in Florence and immerse yourself in the local culture away from the hustle and bustle of the main tourist resorts.

Murica do not have its own airport so its need for passengers are served by small air port in San Javier. It is located 45 km from the main Murica. Beside that airports of Mar Menor and Alicante Airport also cater the needs of passengers. San Javier airport was initially an air force base which now serves for civilian passengers as Murica do not have its own airport services. There are no bus or train services available near airport to take passengers from airport to Murica city, so passengers mainly use taxi or car hire services. The nearest bus stop is 2 km away from the airport while the train station is 10 km away from airport which is very well connected to Murica and other5 destinations. Murica is linked with airport and A37 road to Alicante-Cartagena through Mar Menor motorway links. The airport consists of two terminals, passenger terminal and cargo handling terminal. The passenger terminal building was recently expanded for utility of passengers. Café and restaurant services are available for passenger at airport. With expansion of passenger terminal two new baggage claim offices are also installed at the terminal. More over although it provides limited facilities to disable but assistance is provided to the. For further information please visit: Car Hire Murcia Airport.

Airport has 24 hour free parking area where there is capacity of 180 cars. Disabled person car parking is also available at airport. Pick and drop lane is situated right in front of the terminal.

Car hiring is a better option while traveling in Spain because there are some regions where bus does not go and taxi hire can be expensive. Anycarhire.com is a best choice while renting car hire in Spain because it give you comparison of all the car hire companies in spain. Speed limits in Spain ranges from 60kmph-120kmph. It includes Autopista where speed limit is 120 kmph, Autovia ranging from 80-120kmph, Carretera local with speed limit of 100kmph, Carretera national with speed limit ranging between 60-100kmph and Careetera Camarcal where speed limit varies between 80-100 kmph. Spain is very strict in drinking rules as compared to other European countries, its alcohol limit is 0.5mg and 0.1 mg for new drivers.for further info visit: Car Rental Spain.

Most travellers to Thailand will stay in Hotels Bangkok and overlook one of my most favorite places in Thailand, Koh Samui. It’s the most idyllic island I have ever been to , its in southern Thailand a short flight from Bangkok and 20 miles or so north of Surat Thani town. The total island is only about 15 miles wide and is surrounded by the sixty or so other small islands, which compose the Ang Thong Marine National Park. It has Hotels to suit every budget and a vibe that is hard to find any where else.

For many years the original inhabitants of the island, known as ‘Chao Samui’ made a living farming coconuts but now mostly work in Koh Samui Hotels and other tourism related jobs.

This area in south of Thailand has a wonderful culture due mostly to the huge mix of Buddhists, Thai Chinese, Muslims and indigenous sea-faring gypsies. The island of Koh Samui does not suffer from the religious tensions experienced in some of the other areas of Thailand which leads to a glorious laid back easy going atmosphere which you can help fall in love with.

The Island has some of the best events and festivals anywhere in South East Asia including the Koh Samui Buffalo Fighting Festival which is held on special occasions such as New Year’s Day and Songkran. Unlike the more commonly known bull-fighting from Spain the fighting on Koh Samui is a little more laid back and completely harmless to the animals. The buffalo are wonderfully decorated with coloured ribbons and painted with gold leaves. Its hugely popular with the local Koh Samui people as well as other Thai’s coming in from Bangkok and beyond packing out all the Koh Samui Hotels and enjoying themselves into the early hours.

Other not to miss events include the Ten Stars Samui Art Party. Its a fantastic cultural Art event bringing together local Thai and many renown international artists showcasing new and highly original works. Normally every other month these events are hosted at different hotels resorts and other 5-star venues on the island. Every Koh Samui Guide worth their salt always list this as a “not to be missed” event. You can pick up some quality artwork and very affordable prices.

The men and ladies of Koh Samui take sport very seriously and other annual events include the National Bowling Championship ( held in May every year) , Avis Samui Tennis Open ( July ) , The Koh Samui Triathlon ( more than 500 competitors last year ) and the world famous Samui Regatta with boats coming from Australia, Singapore, Japan and China.

For the more laid back and less sporty I always try to make time to visit Koh Samui’s five day Fisherman’s Village Festival with fun, inexpensive food and music to dance the days and nights away. Many of the local hotels have great offers on during this and all the festivals.

Thailand has become an increasingly popular tourist destination in Southeast Asia, and coupled with the fact that there are always cheap flights to Bangkok available, this country is certainly worthy of consideration as a holiday destination. Thailand offers many attractions for the international traveller to enjoy and experience while they are visiting the country, and the city of Bangkok is certainly no exception.

Must-See Seasonal Attractions in Thailand

With the holiday season upon us, there are several seasonal attractions that take place in Thailand that should be considered if you are planning a holiday to the country. During this time of year, must-see events include:

Hat Yai Lantern Festival –1st November to 28th February

River Kwai Bridge Week – 24th November until 5th December

King Rama IX Botanical Festival – 1st December to 12th December

International Balloon Festival – 2nd December to 6th December

Ayutthaya World Heritage & Red Cross Fair – 10th December to 19th December

All of the above are worth considering and not just because of how colourful and lively they are, but also the excellent opportunities you will have to experience the best of Thai cuisine and culture.

Popular Historical Tourist Sites in Thailand

There are five primary tourist destinations in Thailand – Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket, Koh Samui, and Pattaya. Each of these cities offers a number of attractions that are well worth putting on your holiday or itinerary, such as the following:

Bangkok – the zoos and aquariums found in Bangkok are all something you should include on your holiday itinerary, whether you are travelling with children or not.

Chiang Mai – if you want to experience the utmost in safari adventures, spend a day at the Patara Elephant Farm. Adults and children will enjoy this venue.

Phuket – nothing spells architecture and culture like the shrines and temples that the city of Phuket has to offer the international tourist, as well as the area’s beautiful beaches and islands.

Koh Samui – experience one of the Koh Samui Island tours and enjoy the wildlife, beautiful scenery and amazing beaches.

Pattaya – the three most popular venues here are the Pattaya Crocodile Farm, the Million Years Stone Park and the Elephant Village.

Popular Historical Tourist Sites in Bangkok

If there is one thing that you can definitely find in Bangkok, it is an abundance of popular historical sites. The following is a listing of the most recommended venues to enjoy if you are holidaying in Bangkok and want to see some of the cultural history that the country is known for:

Wat Pho (Temple of the Reclining Buddha) – one of Bangkok’s largest and oldest temples that features a gold reclining Buddha sculpture that measures over 46 metres (150 feet) in length.

Grand Palace – built in 1782, this is the most famous palace complex in Bangkok. There are several structures available to explore including the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, or Wat Phra Kaeo as it is known to the locals.

The Ancient City (Muang Boran) – although the Ancient City is located about 30 km (18.6 miles) from the city of Bangkok in Samut Prakan, this huge open-air museum is a great way to get to know the history and culture of the country.

Already thinking about your next trip? Here are 3 suggestions of cities to visit for a vacation you won’t soon forget.

Bangkok is definitely a city worth visiting. It is home to several Buddhist temples, like the famous Golden Buddha Temple and the Emerald Buddha, and many markets where you can find everything from authentic Thai foods to western watches and purses that are “same same but different” (fake). Elephant rides in Chiang Mai and pristine beaches in the islands (Ko Samui and Ko Phangan, where full moon parties take place every month, are two of the main islands) are not far away!

Go to Milan’s Santa Maria delle Grazie church to see Da Vinci’s Last Supper for yourself. There is something magical about witnessing the world-renowned Last Supper painting in its authenticity. However, tickets for the Last Supper are not unlimited and Dan Brown’s best-seller, The Da Vinci Code, has resulted in more and more desire for Last Supper tickets. It is best to book Last Supper tickets in advance to avoid disappointment.

If you’ve never been to Rome, you’re missing out on one of the most beautiful, historically rich, influential cities in the world. Not only is Rome home to ancient buildings like Castel S. Angelo and the Colosseum, it is also very modernized. In one visit to Rome, you can uncover thousands of years of history on a crypts and catacombs tour and take a tour based on Dan Brown’s best-selling novel, Angels and Demons. Rome hop on hop off bus tours offer a comprehensive tour of Rome, giving you the chance to disembark the bus as you please at any of the over 15 stops. One thing is for sure: Rome sightseeing is never boring and a hop on hop off Rome bus tour will show you all of Rome’s highlights.

Thailand’s capital and largest urban area of the country is the city of Bangkok, and is a popular destination among travellers. During the rule of the Siamese Ayutthaya Kingdom, the city was founded at the mouth of the Chao Phraya River where it was established as a trading post. From the early beginnings of its history, almost as many people were living on the canals of Bangkok as could be found on the city streets. For this reason, Bangkok has long been referred to as the “Venice of the East.”

Great ways to see the city

Most major airlines are now offering flights to Bangkok, and at reasonable prices too. Once you arrive in the city and get settled into your hotel, you’ll probably be anxious to start seeing as much of the city as you can during your stay. When venturing out, you will quickly discover that there are plenty of ways to get around and see the city. Buses, motorcycles, taxis, and Tuk Tuks are seen everywhere in the bustling streets of Bangkok. Where travelling the streets is concerned, these are the preferred modes of travel in the city.

Travelling the canals and the river

The favourite method for cruising the waterways of Bangkok and the Chao Phraya River is the long-tailed boat, or long-tailed taxis as they are more commonly called. A common sight as you travel through the waterways are the numerous stilt houses that line the canals and river, which were built in order to stand up to the Asian monsoon season.

Group tours are available for meandering through the city on the river, as well as numerous dinner cruises that are well worth the money. A popular favourite among both locals and tourists alike is the Bangkok Chao Phraya Dinner Cruise, but other notables are the Bangkok Grand Pearl, Loy Nava, and Manohra dinner cruises.

Must-See River Cruise Attractions and Landmarks

According to travellers, there is no better means of seeing the different Bangkok communities, grand palaces, historical monuments, and temples situated along the river banks than by taking one of the many river cruises currently available. The Chao Phraya River is one of Thailand’s longest rivers and measures 370 km in length. It starts roughly 200 km to the north, passes through the city, and empties into the Gulf of Thailand. Visitors taking part in the cruise can control how elaborate their river cruise is, by cutting out some of the frills and expenses – should they wish to do so.

The first recommended site to see along any Chao Phraya River cruise should be the Ratchawong Pier, the gateway to Thailand’s Chinatown (Yaowarat). This should be followed by the Memorial Bridge, a structure dedicated to Bangkok’s founder, King Rama I, whose depiction can be seen on a throne close to the bridge. The best time of the year to take a river cruise is during the festival of Loy Krathong, during which the river is transformed into a sea of lights filled with candlelit floral floats.

Phuket Island offers visitors a host of choices when it comes to accommodation but knowing where to stay in Phuket is not too difficult to sort out. Cost is often a huge consideration but it is often the season, rather than the area, that plays a more important part in deciding where to stay. On the island there are two seasons, the dry “High Season” from November to April and the Monsoon or “Green Season” from May to October. During this time, heavy tropical rains can make water activities on west coast beaches treacherous. Trips to such destinations as the Similan and Surin Islands may be canceled. On the east coast, these conditions are generally not as serious. Hotel rates are considerably lower during this time with numerous ‘special packages’ on offer.

Phuket Town

The provincial capital, Phuket Town, is packed with hotels, restaurants shops and lots of local history. Two top establishments here are the Metropole Hotel and the Royal Phuket City Hotel. Others include the Phuket Merlin Hotel in a quieter part of town and the Thavorn Grand Plaza Hotel. A sister hotel, the Thavorn, is the oldest in town and its collection of historical memorabilia makes it worth a look even for those staying elsewhere.

Panwa Cape to Rawai Beach

Seven kilometers from Phuket Town, the secluded Panwa Cape, home to the Phuket Marine Biological Centre and Phuket Aquarium, offers upmarket rooms at the Panwaburi Hotel. More moderately priced are the Panwa Beach Resort and Panwa House Hotel. Rawai Beach is the location of The Evason Phuket. There are also a number of inexpensive bungalows at the southern end of Chalong Bay.

Nai Harn Beach

Around from Prom Thep Cape is Nai Harn Beach, also home to the Phuket Yacht Club. Le Royal Meridien Phuket Yacht Club offers luxurious accommodation, as do the Nai Harn Villas.

Kata Noi Beach to Patong Beach

On the west of the island, Kata comprises two lovely beaches, Kata Yai and Kata Noi. This area is dominated by Club Med Phuket, which offers “all inclusive” holiday packages. The Kata Beach Resort is an exclusive boutique hotel and the Mom Tri’s Boathouse boasts the award-winning Wine & Grill Restaurant. There is also the Kata Thani Hotel & Beach Resort, which is accompanied by several small restaurants. Neither of the beach areas have discos or large clubs, so nightlife is confined to the small, late-night pubs and outdoor bars in the vicinity.

Karon Beach

Across a low hill from Kata lies Karon Beach, known for having the softest sand in Thailand. There are numerous beachside restaurants, shops and late-night bars. Notable establishments here include the five-star Phuket Arcadia Hotel & Resort, Le Meridien Phuket, the Thavorn Palm Beach Resort, Ramada Karon, the Waterfront Hotel and Moevenpick Resort and Spa. Less expensive accommodation is available at the Centara Villas Phuket and Phuket Ocean Resort, while the Sea Breeze Inn is a good, inexpensive location.

Patong Beach

This area provides all manner of attractions with the most nightlife on the west side of the island. This is where the majority of visitors to Phuket stay and there are literally hundreds of accommodation possibilities, from resorts and hotels to modest bungalows, and something for every budget. At the luxurious end of the scale is the Amari Coral Beach Resort, the Club Andaman Beach Resort and the Diamond Cliff Resort & Spa. Middle-range establishments include the Deevana Patong Resort and Spa, the Phairin Beach Hotel and the Phuket Grand Tropicana. At the lower price end is the Baan Lamai Beach Resort, the Deva Patong Resort and the Royal Palm Beach Front, to name but a few.

To the north, at Nakalay Beach, is the upmarket Thavorn Beach Village, which includes the popular restaurant Old Siam Nakalay plus one of the better island spas, Nakalay Spa.

Laem Sing, Surin and Kamala Beach

The upmarket Kamala Residence is located on the small, picturesque Laem Sing Beach, separated by a small headland from Surin Beach, where the five-star Chedi Hotel is located. The relatively undeveloped Kamala Beach is home to Thailand’s most outstanding hotspot, Phuket FantaSea. Places to stay include the deluxe Kamala Bay Terrace Resort, the moderately-priced Phuket Kamala Resort and the Kamala Beach Hotel & Resort.

Bang Tao Beach and Laguna Phuket

The Laguna Phuket Complex is made up of the Banyan Tree, Dusit Laguna Resort Hotel, Sheraton Grande Laguna, Allamanda Laguna Phuket and Laguna Beach Resort. These are some of the most luxurious resorts on the island, set on 1,000 acres and interconnected by road, canal and lagoon. Facilities include the Canal Village Shopping Center, an 18-hole golf course, a horse-riding club and a skills-challenge course.

Moderately-priced accommodation elsewhere in the area includes Bangtao Beach Cottage and Pen Villa Hotel.

Nai Yang Beach

This is the longest beach on the island, and where giant sea turtles come ashore in the dry season to lay their eggs. There is superb swimming along the beach with access to a camping area and Nai Yang National Park. Places to stay include the Crown Nai Yang Suite Hotel and the Pearl Village.

Offshore Islands

On Phi Phi Islands, recognized among the most beautiful islands in the world, there are both five star and budget accommodations available, including Holiday Inn Resort—Phi Phi Island, Phi Phi Cabana and Phi Phi Natural Resort.

Coral Island is one of the most popular one-day tour destinations, surrounded by colorful coral reefs. The Coral Island Resort is a moderately-priced establishment. On Cruiser Island there is the charming, inexpensive Cruiser Island Resort, while Mai Thon Island offers the deluxe and exclusive Maiton Resort.

Which ever of the many Hotels in Phuket you choose to stay in , you can be sure of a friendly welcome and comfortable accommodation in prices to suit all pockets .
